i agree that too many things are deemed felonies nowdays. it occurs to me that the last thing youd want to do to an errant young person is make them unemployable..
on a related note, sadly specialized machinery is replacing the need for skilled and
semiskilled laborers. the new bridge on the bypass never seemed to have but 4 - 6 workers on the ground.
mr bray and i have never agreed on the subject of harsh drug laws but gradually a harm reduction concept is being instituted in the usa and even exported to european cities. it goes something like this; we have the evidence to put you away cracky. go back to your neighborhood and if one weapon discharges in your end of town you are gone for 20 years. cracky will do his best to see that no gunfire comes from his part of the hood.
in the defense of drug laws many horribly addicted people have been turned around by a sobering stay in jail and subsequent addiction recovery services so it isnt a simple subject with simple solutions..
thank you mr bray for a lifetime of dedicated service to your state and country..
