In that same story it stated "At the caucus, the candidates will have three minutes each to say why they should be selected as the new county clerk." Check for yourself. http://www.reporter-times.com/stories/2012/11/21/news.qp-1313887.sto

| MooresvilleCitizen Friday, November 30, 2012: 11:55 am More from MooresvilleCitizen | If you truly believe that the ballot was wrong then you need to notify the Secretary of State's Office so an official investigation can be conducted. I find it hard to believe your story as there have been no other reports of that happening to others.

| callen1 Friday, November 30, 2012: 11:57 am More from callen1 | And I am looking at the current district map for the congressional district and haven't found any area in Morgan County that has two districts. Aren't the maps online current? She said they changed in January, but I haven't saw any map that has put any portion of Morgan county in another district. Though it makes sense because this county the year I ran supported Brant Harshman, and Senator Bray even held a fund raiser at his home supporting that candidate, and invited me to it, while I was running for the same office. |

| Pinky Friday, November 30, 2012: 12:13 pm More from Pinky | There is no area anywhere that has two districts. The county is located within two districts. Part of the county is District 4, the rest is District 9. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/IN

| callen1 Friday, November 30, 2012: 12:20 pm More from callen1 | Monroe County has only a partial portion of its county in the 4th district and then the rest is in the ninth district, all of Morgan County is in the forth district according to the online site that the state over sees. |

| spell-check Friday, November 30, 2012: 1:55 pm More from spell-check | callen1 - Is your boyfriend a French model too? Not everything you read on the internet is true and not everything is up do date. Morgan County has two districts, 4 and 9. Monroe County is all in district 9. Check your facts before bashing anyone. |
| sillyoldman Friday, November 30, 2012: 2:02 pm More from sillyoldman | Ms. Allen, Possibly you don’t realize that Morgan County does have 2 US House of Representative Districts now. Part of the county is in the 4th District represented by Todd Rokita and part of the county is in the 9th District represented by Todd Young. Depending on where you live you voted for one or the other Districts, NOT BOTH. If you use this link below you can see the current congressional districts and the new districts that take effect January 2012. We just voted for the elected officials that will take office January 2012. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/IN/ You may not also realize that Morgan County now has 3 State Representative Districts also. District 47 represented by John Price, District 60 represented by Peggy Mayfield and District 44 represented by Jim Baird. Again depending on where you lived you ONLY voted for one of these not all 3 Districts. The document that you reference on the Election Board Facebook page is a SUMMARY of all the offices voted for within Morgan County. As far as the anti-nepotism bill, maybe you should go back and read it again. Stephanie Elliott is County “elected official”. Her husband John works for the City of Martinsville those are 2 different Governmental Entities and Stephanie does not supervise John in his job. As far as Kivett, I am told that her husband Rick does not report to her directly so it does not violate the anti-nepotism law. |
| concerned resident Friday, November 30, 2012: 2:12 pm More from concerned resident | First I would like to say CONGRAGUALTIONS to our new Morgan County Clerk Stephanie Elliott. I am happy to see that the majority of the precinct committeemen recognized that Stephanie’s qualifications outweighed Vickie Kivett’s status as a longtime Republican Party member. Ratcatcher I would agree that Weaver interrupting Stephanie was extremely rude. But one only has to look at how he has acted the past 2 years to understand that this is who and what he is. It certainly seemed to those in the room that Vickie’s speech was more than 3 minutes and he did not make any attempt to interrupt her. However, I did check with someone who timed the 3 speeches and was told that Kivett’s went 3.01, Elliott’s was 2.40, and Thorsell’s was a little under 3 minutes. Maybe he interrupted Stephanie as you state to rattle her, which he clearly did not do. Weaver stated at the caucus that he had not made any calls telling anyone how to vote, he had told people that that if Kivett were to win that he was going to run to fill her County Council seat. I guess that is not an “endorsement” or telling people how to vote. Weaver’s “support” does seem to be the “kiss of death” for those seeking office. As I count it he at least 0 for 5. Those would include the 2010 Sheriff race, 2010 Clerk race, 2012 State Representative Primary race, 2012 State Representative General Election race, and now the 2012 Clerk Caucus I think there have been other losses but have not been keeping score. By the way the vote total reported in the paper does not add up correctly. There were 51 people there to vote according to Weaver. The totals reported in the paper only come to 50. I think the actual count was 30, 19, & 2. Regardless Stephanie had more than was needed. I was also amused by Weaver’s parting shot: “Well now maybe we will have a Republican Clerk?” We do have a Republican Clerk in Stephanie Elliott and we also had a Republican Clerk in Peggy Mayfield. If they were not Republican Clerks why would we have had a Republican Caucus? What we don’t have are Clerk’s that Chairman Weaver can control and I see that as a good thing. I think it is time for Weaver to move back to Orange County, stay in Michigan, or move to Vigo County which he seems to be very fond of. |
