I recall nothing mentioned in the council meetings when the mayor was given these raises regarding more responsibilities. Apriss moved here due to the efforts of one councilman. The sock factory moved here because their place burned down. REMC got a huge tax break. The mayor did not do any of this. Why is it that we give the mayor a raise for doing something that is ALREADY in his job description? Cut the mayors pay to where it was and then raise it back up before the election so we can improve the talent level we bring in for the next mayor.
